An Inconvenient Oath
Chapters 81-82
The throne doesn’t seem to suit Liu Bei. Since becoming Emperor, he has been enraged about the deaths of his brothers from the Peach Garden Oath. Even Kongming can’t talk him down. When Zhuge Jin arrives from the South to try to convince him to back down, Liu Bei wants to kill him. It’s interesting to see the turn in the character and the repercussions from the oath. Up until now, it has seemed like a great and noble thing. Now it is very inconvenient for everyone involved.
Lord Guan and Zhang Fei both had sons. In Chapter 82, they start to come into their own, fighting side by side. You’d think this could be enough for Liu Bei! If he is going to be Emperor, he should listen to everyone about setting aside his oath or finding a way to resolve it honorably.
