How to get see your enemies die without killing them
Chapters 22-23
This week, in two different episodes, both Liu Bei and Cao Cao restrain themselves from killing their enemies. But they have different reasons, which helps contrast their characters.
For Liu Bei, he needs to determine what to do with the enemy generals that he has captured. He sends them back to his enemy to demonstrate his desire for peace. But when the enemy receives them, they are executed.
Cao Cao is insulted by a great scholar named Mi Heng. Cao Cao retaliates by forcing him to entertain the court by playing drums. In response, Mi Heng strips naked while playing the drums to further insult the court. Fed up, Cao Cao sends the scholar to one of his men, Liu Biao. Liu Biao is also insulted and considers killing Mi Heng, but he does not want to have his name associated with the dishonor of killing the great scholar. He correctly deduces that Cao Cao wanted Mi Heng dead, hoped that Liu Biao would kill him, and also didn’t want to be dishonored. Liu Biao passes Mi Heng again, this time to Huang Zu. He is less careful and quickly kills the scholar.
Regarding Magic cards, there is a brief mention of a new character, Zhang He (p. 376). Otherwise I didn’t see anything new.
